VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA is a funny, sexy divertissement that unfolds as enjoyably as an idle summer’s afternoon in, well, Barcelona, Spain. With Javier Bardem starring as a bohemian artist involved variously with American tourists Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall and ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz, this charming film is very easy on the eyes. Woody Allen’s recent films have been a roll of the dice - a good one (Match Point) followed by a bad one (Scoop). This is a good one, which got high praise at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. |
