This elegant and satisfying documentary tells the story of 85 year-old Jiro Ono, considered the world’s greatest sushi chef. He is the proprietor of an unassuming 10-seat restaurant in Tokyo, to which people from around the globe make pilgrimages. Beautifully photographed and carefully presented, JIRO is a food lover’s dream movie. It’s also a touching family story about Jiro’s relationship with his eldest son, who aspires to be a worthy successor.
