Richard Linklater’s latest is a cheerful account of a Texas murder case, starring Jack Black and Shirley MacLaine, embellished with real life interviews with real people. It’s about a charming funeral director who befriends a grumpy old woman and then ends up killing her. Its odd, enjoyable weirdness is funny – sort of a cross between the Coen Brothers and Errol Morris.
