Beasts of the Southern Wild

USA – Benh Zeitlin – 1 hr 31 min

This is an exceptional American independent feature. A six year old girl from the southern Delta searches for her long lost mother after her father falls ill.  The world seems to be spinning out of balance as sea levels rise, strange animals appear, and a foreboding sense of apocalypse descends.  This truly unique film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

  4. Hi,
How long will “The Beast of the Southern Wild” be at the Ambler ?
I’ve heard so much about this movie, that I really don’t want to miss it.
    Thanks

  5. This was perhaps THE most intriguing film we have seen all year to date. (and we see lots and lots of films) I LOVED it. I can’t stop thinking about little Hush Puppy, her ‘dad’ and all the people in the film. Have visited that area before Katrina and was familiar with the abject poverty some of these folks live in. Despite that, this movie conveyed a sheer joy and spirit of determination that was just hard to beat.
