In 1936, two young German climbers face off against a rival duo in an attempt to be the first team to scale the infamous north face of the Eiger in the Swiss Alps. The action is gripping and the challenges are life-threatening in this very convincingly staged movie based on a true story. A straightforward, wickedly suspenseful saga of the type that rarely gets made any more.
