France/USA – Michel Hazanavicius – 1 hr 40 min – silent
A wonderful, wonderful film – silent and in black and white, no less! Wow, this is really special. It’s about a Hollywood star who can’t make the transition from silent films to talkies. Unabashedly sentimental and uproariously funny, it’s purely and hopelessly romantic. You laugh, you cry, you smile, you leave happy. With broadly expressive acting, soaring music, and the best dog sidekick in ages. Do not miss this film.

LOVED the ARTIST. wonderful from beginning to end….
Yes The Artist is charming and the acting and music just perfect. But was I the only one to find the storyline a little thin?

One of the best films I’ve ever seen. Even people who thought they would nevert give a silent film a chance have been pleasantly surprised. The story, the acting and the music are all memorable.
