Le Havre

LE HAVRE
Aki Kaurismaki returns with his deadpan and beautifully composed Finnish vision.  This one’s set in France, where fate deposits a young African refugee.  He’s befriended by Marcel, an old bohemian, who fends off the persistant inspector pursuing the boy for deportation.  LE HAVRE is a political fairy tale – charming, wryly funny and very affectionate.

  2. Carol,

    Thank you for your comment.

La Havre will be playing at the Ambler Theater today (Wed 12/14) at 2:05 and tomorrow (Thurs 12/15) at 2:35
Mozart’s Sister will be playing at the Ambler Theater today (Wed 12/14) at 5:20 and tomorrow (Thurs 12/15) at 5:20.

It looks like you will be able to catch both if you are game for a double-header or go back-to-back days.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Chris

  3. Thank you for showing this little but big gem of a movie!
There is still hope for decency and humanity and pure empathy for the mass movements of immigration that is going on in this world today.
    It is a wonderful movie!

  4. Hey Chris,

We are big fans of B movies. And I noticed that “the Room” played a midnight showing at Bryn Mawr this past Sat. Night. Any chance you could try something like that at Ambler.

    Thank you,
    Liz

  5. Will Le Havre return for a regular 2 week run at the County or is this the only time you’re showing it?

  6. Sarita,

It is unlikely that Le Havre will be returning for a full run at the County. But we will most likely have a couple of additional screenings sprinkled in over the next week or two.

    Chris
